Historic House Tours

The Riversdale House Museum is currently undergoing a preservation project to address water infiltration, paint repair, and UV protection. This hallmark project is a testament of the Museum’s dedication to historic preservation and ensuring the long-term survival of our cultural significance and physical character for future generations.

The historic mansion will be closed from December 15, 2024 - March 15, 2025. However, the Riversdale grounds and Visitor Center will remain open daily and our Dependency Building on Fridays and Sundays during regular tour hours.

When the historic mansion reopens to the public, tours will resume based on the following schedule:
Fridays and Sundays, tours depart from the Visitor Center at Noon and 2:00 pm.
An introduction begins 5 minutes prior to departure. Please arrive early to purchase your tickets at the Visitor Center. Pre-registration is not required.

Grounds & Gardens: Sunday-Saturday, dawn-dusk (occasionally closed for programs; contact office for details)
​
Visitor Center Hours: Monday-Friday 10 am-4pm
Sundays 11:30-3:30 pm

Tour Admission
Adults: $5/person
Seniors and Groups of 10 or more: $4/person
Ages -18 and Students with ID: $2/person
Ages 4 & under: Free

Join the Riversdale Kitchen Guild as they prepare food traditionally prepared by enslaved communities in Maryland, enjoy live music, and discover the stories of cooks at Riversdale like Sam and Emily Saunders Plummer.

Book Talk & Cooking Demonstration
Saturday, March 8, 2025, 12-3 PM
Join author of Cooking Maryland's Way: Voices of a Diverse Cuisine, Joyce White for a book talk, meet and greet, and a cooking demonstration with Lead Historic Interpretation and Community Engagement Officer for M-NCCPC, Marvin-Alonso Greer.
Note: Portion of this event will be held in the Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is located in 6005 48th Ave, Riverdale Park, MD 20737.
